Enforcement data

The Enforcement dashboard reports summary data for enforcement activities conducted by jurisdiction police agencies.

• Random Breath Tests (RBT): Presents annual data on the number of random breath tests (RBT) conducted and deaths involving illegal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) by Australian jurisdictions. It also contains the share of positive RBTs, the rate of RBTs by 10,000 driver licence holders by jurisdiction and the number of deaths involving illegal BAC in Australia from 2010. Data for road deaths is sourced from jurisdictional crash data custodians provided to the Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics.
• Roadside Drug Tests: Presents annual data on the number of roadside drug tests conducted. It also contains the share of positive roadside drug tests and the rate of roadside drug tests by 10,000 driver licence holders by jurisdiction in Australia from 2010.
• Mobile Phone Infringements: Presents annual data on the number of infringements issued for mobile phone use whilst driving in Australia (including infringements issued from mobile phone detection cameras). It also contains rates of mobile phone infringements by 10,000 driver licence holders by jurisdiction in Australia from 2010.
• Speed Infringements: Presents annual data on the number of infringements issued for speeding (fixed and mobile speed cameras) in Australia. It also contains rates of speed camera infringements (for fixed and mobile speed cameras) by 10,000 driver licence holders by jurisdiction in Australia from 2010.
• Seatbelt Infringements: Presents annual data on the number of infringements issued for not wearing a seatbelt in Australia. It also contains rates of seatbelt infringements (including mobile phone detection cameras) by 10,000 driver licence holders by jurisdiction in Australia from 2017.
